Future Pathways (Buckinghamshire)
What is Future Pathways?
Future Pathways is a free programme which has been running in Swindon since 2021 and Berkshire since 2022. In 2023, we partnered with Buckinghamshire New University to expand the programme into Buckinghamshire.
Future Pathways Buckinghamshire helps care experienced young people in years 9-13 learn about the educational pathways available to them after they leave school. It also gives them the opportunity to socialise with other young people in similar circumstances.
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at care experienced young people in years 9-13 in Buckinghamshire.
How much does it cost?
Future Pathways is completely FREE to attend, including transport and all refreshments.

All the events for this year can be seen in the table below. At the bottom of this page is a downloadable leaflet with details of each event.

Post-16 Pathways Workshop/UCAS Workshop
Depending on your age and level of study, you can sign-up either for a post-16 Pathways workshop, where you will explore options after GCSEs, or a UCAS application workshop. Both groups will then combine for lunch and a fun campus-based activity. |

Learn all about apprenticeship levels, applications, and life as an apprentice. |

Join other young people from other regions, to meet employers, hear about opportunities for care experienced young people to learn new skills and build their CVs, and participate in interactive workshops designed to boost your confidence and knowledge around work. |

Exploring higher education & university, including accommodation, finance, and wellbeing/support on campus. |

| April tbc | Oxford Visit
Visit to Trinity College, Oxford University, to learn about applications to and life at Oxford Uni. After a meal in college, we will visit one of Oxford’s museums. |

A fantastic opportunity for students on the Bucks, Berkshire, and Swindon programmes to get behind-the-scenes access to a working hospital. We will see the range of career paths in the NHS, and meet staff. |
