We can deliver impartial in-school talks on a range of subjects to students, teachers, parents or any other groups. If your students would benefit from visiting one of our partner institutions, we can also assist in arranging a campus visit.

We can deliver a range of talks to your students, either in-school or part of an institution visit.  We can also deliver these as part of a parents evening, teacher inset day or information and advice events.  Talks last between 30 and 60 minutes and cover a range of topics such as:

Introduction to higher education

Benefits of going to university, courses on offer and how university differs from school or college.

Choosing a course and institution

How to narrow down the choices to a manageable number and how university courses differ.

Routes through higher education

Introduces students to alternative routes through higher education such as Foundation degrees.

Study skills

How to be a good independent learner, the importance of goal setting and tips on how to make notes.

Applying for higher education

A general overview of how to get through the UCAS system.  Usually linked with writing personal statements.

Writing personal statements

How to prepare for and write personal statements.  Includes dos and don’ts, advice on structure and tips from admissions tutors.  This presentation can be combined with a drop in session for students to help them to begin work on their personal statements.    

Student finance

An overview of how you might finance your studies and the support available to students from loans, scholarships and bursaries.  Outlines the support in place to ensure that everyone can afford to go to university.

Student life

An insight into student life from the perspective of a current student.  In addition to addressing the area of studies, talks will covers topics such as accommodation, social life, societies and sport.
