I work with the Study Higher Team at Buckinghamshire New University
In my role I lead the award winning Simulate Your Future project which consists of a portable unit visiting schools, colleges and events with an immersive simulation experience which allows students to better understand educational pathways available in a range of career options. As well as delivering the sessions, I have also played a part in the creation of some new films for the experience. I love being able to see the reactions to the sessions I have created and to get the cogs turning in a young person’s mind about their future.
More about me:
Prior to my career in Study Higher, I was studying Air Transport at Buckinghamshire New University. It was during this time that I had taken on the role of student ambassador and had gained my initial experience in working with young people from the surrounding schools.
I had then found a passion I didn’t know I had which was to help educate young people to the wealth of opportunities and options they have throughout their educational pathway. After being a Student Ambassador, I became Campus Visit Administrative Assistant for a year which gave me the opportunity to get creative and develop an entire days’ worth of activities for a visiting school as part of the Passport Days for Year 9 students which I would be delivering weekly. This role further cemented my passion working with young people and led to me continuing to progress in my career by taking on my current role with the Simulate Your Future project.
