We are excited to be working with secondary schools across Berkshire as part of the National Collaborative Outreach Project (NCOP). We have three Higher Education Liaison Officers (HELOs) based in Berkshire whose main role is to work closely with our target schools, coordinating outreach events and activities, and ensuring schools have access to relevant information about higher education.
Since the start of the project, we've delivered and developed a number of exciting activities with schools in Berkshire. Recently, year 12 students at Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School in Reading were inspired by an interactive music technology session and were given the opportunity to create a piece of music using the latest technology and computer programmes. The session showed students the link between music, technology and computing, and opened their eyes to the variety of studies available to them at higher education level. Click here to find out more about this event.
In addition to very specific sessions, we've also worked with whole year groups to deliver motivational and aspirational activities in relation to higher education, and worked with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to help them explore in more detail their future work and study plans, to support them in reaching their goals and realise their full potential.
If you're interested in what we're doing, please feel free to get in contact with our Berkshire HELOs to see how Study Higher can work with your school. Use our map to find your school and your dedicated HELO's contact details.
If your school is not shown on our map, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to see how we can work with you.
