Young Carers

Impact
25 Year 10 students at UTC Swindon had the opportunity to take part in a fun, hands-on STEM experience where they created their own remote-controlled car.
During the ‘LearnThruTech’ session delivered by Rewise Learning, students worked together to build cars from scratch as well as having a go at C++ coding. For some students, this was the first time they had tried coding and were surprised at how much they enjoyed it!
Rewise also explored with the students the various uses of STEM in everyday life ranging from smartphones to medical and industrial applications. Rewise also spoke about the various roles that are available through a STEM related field and gave examples of some well-known individuals who have achieved a successful career through a STEM related subject.
UTC wrote an article about this session, which can be viewed here.
