On Thursday 15th March 2018, the University of Oxford, in partnership with the University of Reading, will be hosting the Study Higher Year 10 Academic Conference where the focus will be on science.   The proposed programme for the day can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

The event:

The Conference is an exciting opportunity for students enjoying sciences at GCSE and considering further studies in this area and will introduce students to science subjects that are available at university.  It is ideal for those interested in learning more about subjects such as Earth Sciences (Geology), Zoology, Maths and Engineering (subjects to be confirmed). This is an enjoyable, interactive yet instructive day hosted by Oxford and Reading Universities.

Students will

  • Attend two science subject taster sessions of their choice
  • Participate in a fun and interactive session linking science subjects with careers
  • Have the chance to ask current university students questions about their experience of university and what university life is really like

Teachers will

  • Have the opportunity to attend brief information sessions on activities and resources available to schools and students
