A residential football themed summer school hosted by Bucks New University aimed at Year 9 & 10 students with a visit to Wembley Stadium
11th to 13th July
Information for Teachers
Going for Goals is a Bucks New University outreach programme delivered with input from UCFB and funded by the Study Higher Initiative (part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme)
This programme aims to address the government's goal to increase the number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education. Therefore, this programme would be of most benefit to Year 9 and 10 students that meet this criteria.
In addition, all Study Higher programmes are targeted at students who live in particular localities in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Swindon. More information on the targeting of Study Higher programmes can be found here and we are more than happy to help you select appropriate students.
We do understand that you may have Year 9 and 10 students that would benefit from this programme but do not meet this criteria. Please do let us know if this is the case and we will do our best to accommodate them.
We will be running a three day, residential, summer school, hosted by Bucks New University. We will also visit UCFB’s home, the iconic Wembley Stadium for a tour as a part of this experience.
The summer school will run on 11th/12th/13th July. All costs will be covered by Study Higher including travel, food and accommodation.
The key objective of this programme is to engage students in an activity they enjoy, as a starting point for thinking about future options. Through this programme, we hope to broaden participants’ knowledge of career opportunities relating to football, sport and beyond.
