On 22 June, the Henley Business School are running a Taster Day for students in their first year of A-level study (or equivalent) to find out more about the exciting Flying Start degree, BA Accounting & Business.
This degree programme integrates academic studies with paid work placements with PwC over four years. As well as a degree and work experience, Flying Start graduates leave with exemptions for 12 out of the 15 exams needed to qualify as an ICAEW chartered accountant, fast tracking their career and boosting employability.
The taster day itself will consist of a series of interactive workshops which will introduce you to some of the key programme modules, including tax and accounting essentials. All sessions will be delivered by academic staff from the accounting and business subject area team. You will have the opportunity to interact with current undergraduate students to find out what it is really like to study at the University of Reading. We will also guide you through the application process for the Flying Start degree programme through a jointly led session with PwC, who will share top tips for succeeding in interviews and group exercises, offering some practical examples to take away with you.
The event is free to attend and we welcome applications from all students who are in their first year of studying for a A-level (or equivalent) qualifications and who have predicted grades in line with the University of Reading course requirements. We will also give priority to those who have no prior family experience of higher education.
