Cameron Parker’s Inspirational Assembly and Workshop

Impact

Cameron Parker visited Nova Hreod School twice to hold inspirational assemblies and workshops for their Year 9 and 10 students. The workshops focused on raising the students aspirations and improving their self-esteem.

Cameron engaged with the students through sharing his experiences of secondary school and how he was able to graduate from university even though the odds were against him. The students advised that following the workshop they have more motivation and confidence to think about their futures.

Cameron also covered various other topics including different job salaries and breaking down boundaries, encouraging the students that opportunities are boundless. The groups of students were also split into smaller groups where they were encouraged to share their fears with the group. Following on from this they took part in an activity which then led on to telling the group where they saw themselves in 5 and 10 years’ time and how they could make these dreams achievable.

Cameron Parker’s energetic attitude and engaging nature left the students feeling more positive, confident and motivated to think more about their future.
