FE mentor role - Swindon

Study Higher is looking to train 10-15 FE learners in Swindon to act as Study Higher FE mentors during Mar-July 2018 in Swindon. This role will focus on supporting local school students to develop their skills and confidence in the co-completion of a project (a 10-min presentation and handout) focused around career progression and HE.

Who are we looking for?

Students who:

  • Are in the first year of their L3 course.

  • Are interested in supporting local school students in Swindon.

  • Can demonstrate strong interpersonal, transferable, and other relevant skills.

  • Will commit to the programme and will be available for all sessions.

As a mentor, you will:

  • Gain valuable volunteering experience - very useful for CVs and university applications!

  • Have the opportunity to develop your leadership, research, and communication skills.

  • Make a difference to the life of a local school student.

  • Learn more about Higher Education and how to reach your potential.

 

All mentors will receive a ‘thank you’ voucher on completion of their mentoring duties. Study Higher will also offer follow-up support to all mentors with university/apprenticeship applications.
