Study Higher Teachers' and Careers Advisors' Conference 2015

June 2015 marked the fourth annual Study Higher Teachers’ and Careers Advisors’ Conference. Hosted this time by the University of Oxford, the conference was held in the beautiful grounds of St Hilda’s College.

The day included the Study Higher rebranding and relaunch following the partnership’s expansion to include the University of Reading and six Further Education Colleges. One of the main priorities of Study Higher is to find the areas the professionals need further information on to support their student’s transition to further study. The responses were fantastic and highlighted the areas that we will provide resources on, and look to feature in future CPD work.

A huge range of schools and organisations from across our network were represented by delegates. We welcomed staff from all of our partner universities to run workshops, as well as individuals from Oxfordshire County Council and Oxfordshire Apprenticeships. Together we covered how to support student’s application to Oxbridge; writing successful personal statements; the current labour market and employability; a guide to apprenticeships; and an overview of education reforms and the effect they will have on your work, your students, and on university admissions.

Save the date! Our 2016 Conference will be hosted by Bucks New University on 24th June 2016.
