Amersham and Wycombe College is a leading general Further Education College and vocational education provider in Buckinghamshire.
The College has main Campuses in Amersham and High Wycombe, each providing a range of qualifications from Entry to Degree Level, as well as a wide offering of Apprenticeship opportunities. Courses offered include Art & Design, Business and Enterprise (PJEA), Chlidcare, Computing, Construction, Hair & beauty, Health & Social Care, Media, Music, Public Services, Performing Arts, Sport, Science, Travel and Tourism and Teacher Training.
Our third campus, The Inspire Centre, is located in the heart of High Wycombe town centre. Here we run business training throughout Buckinghamshire and the Thames Valley as well as a varied range of courses that include Childcare, Computing, Health & Social Care and English courses for speakers of other languages (ESOL). One of the key objectives of the Inspire Centre is to provide more coherent pathways for unemployed people into employment and self-employment.
Students of all ages and backgrounds study at the College, whether they are school leavers or adults looking to retrain or enhance their job prospects by gaining new skills. The College has strong links with industry to help ensure that students are work-ready on completion of their studies. Onward employability of students is one of our key drivers.
The College has undergone major changes over the years, the most recent of which was the creation of a new Construction Skills Centre at the High Wycombe Campus. Remodeled classrooms, landscaped grounds and a modern reception area all feature in an impressive new facility. The Centroid Motion Capture Academy was recently established within the Amersham Campus to train the animation and VFX students of tomorrow and we are a founder college of the National Skills Academy - Creative and Cultural, in recognition of our outstanding provision in creative industries.
The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, a magnet for budding entrepreneurs, was founded at the college several years ago and at last year’s graduation ceremony in London, an Amersham & Wycombe College student was crowned PJEA National Entrepreneur of the Year!
